OREANDA-NEWS. Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) will offer its fully flat-bed seats in its Delta One business class cabin for the first time when nonstop daily flights between Malaga Airport and New York John F. Kennedy International Airport resume for the summer season on June 4, 2015.

The U.S. airline has scheduled a Boeing 757-200 aircraft with 164 seats on the route, which is operated in conjunction with Delta’s joint venture partners Air France KLM and Alitalia. Services will initially begin five times a week, increasing to a daily operation from June 29, 2015. Now in its eighth year of operation, this is the first year Delta has offered daily flights from Malaga to the United States.

“Delta has been re-fitting its entire international fleet with the flat-bed product and we are pleased to offer it on our services from Malaga for the first time this summer,” said Rafael Ruiz, Delta’s Regional Sales Manager for Spain and Southern Europe. “We are committed to improving the customer experience and superior seating combined with excellent on-board service is an important part of this. With more flights this year, Delta is also providing increased travel options between Spain and the United States for our customers.”

In addition to reclining 180 degrees, the Delta One business class seats are all forward-facing and come complete with Westin Heavenly Inflight Bedding from Westin Hotels & Resorts. Customers will also be served a five-course meal with accompanying wines selected by Delta’s Master Sommelier, Andrea Robinson.

“In addition to this direct flight to New York, the passengers from Malaga have the possibility to travel on a daily basis and throughout the year to one of the 300 destinations in North America offered by the Joint Venture, with the complementary flight offer of Air France, KLM and Alitalia. These flights, via Paris-CDG, Amsterdam-SPL or Roma-FCO, can be combined,” stated Asunci?n P?rez, Air France KLM Sales Director for Spain. “In order to better meet our client's expectations, at Air France and KLM we are also making an important investment to renew our long haul cabins, already available on flights to Washington, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Houston or Toronto.”
