Citgo pays EPA fine for Corpus Christi emissions

OREANDA-NEWS. Citgo will pay a \$360,000 civil penalty under an agreement with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for 2012 emissions and equipment and controls violations at its Corpus Christi, Texas chemical plant.

An unannounced EPA inspection in 2012 showed operating and training violations, according to the EPA. Under the agreement announced, Citgo will address the violations and also provide more than \$117,000 in equipment to the Corpus Christi Fire Department to detect and identify suspected chemical leaks.
