OREANDA-NEWS. “No doubt that sanctions have to be rolled over as Russia refuse to implement and execute the Minsk deal,” Ukraine’s PM Arseniy Yatsenyuk underlined during the 8th Kyiv Security Forum “No Security Without Values. The 29th Story of Freedom” on Thursday, 28 May.

He has emphasized that Ukraine needs diplomatic and financial support, “We truly appreciate that together with our European partners we relaunched our IMF program and Ukraine is to get about USD25 bln in the forthcoming four years. But the thing is that the gap is 25 bln dollars more.”

He has stressed that too much depends on the fiscal and economic stability in Ukraine. Arseniy Yatsenyuk highlighted Russia, which waged hybrid war against Ukraine, is using social and economic leverages, “Putin will do everything to escalate the situation in Ukraine using all tools and means. The first one is military, what he has already done. The second one is economic, what he already did. The third one is social, unrest and social tension we are facing now. It’s difficult for people to survive and he knows this. We do understand that this is the only strategy we have and this is the right strategy to pass all these painful, tough but right reforms. But Russia will play on this.”

Moreover, Russia will try to trigger the political conflict in Ukraine or political tension.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed that unity between the EU and the U.S. is needed to respond jointly to Russian aggression, “We definitely need for you in the EU to retain unit on sanctions, including on the issue of sanctions.”

The 8th Kyiv Security Forum gathered brought together in Kyiv politicians, officials, experts from more than 20 countries over the world to discuss issues of preservation of peace and reconstruction of values.

The annual international event Kyiv Security Forum, established by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation Open Ukraine in 2007, is a platform for debate and exchange of experiences on topical issues of security in Europe and the Black Sea region.
