OREANDA-NEWS. Aeroflot has once again extended its Approved Gate Check (AGC) status awarded by British Home Office.

AGC status repeated confirmation proves the recognition of high expertise of Aeroflot’s staff in preventing illegal migration to the UK.

Aeroflot has long ensured high efficiency in documents’ checking. This has enabled the authority to extend the AGC status for yet another whole year. Normally, this status is granted for a six months’ term.

AGC status provides certain priorities to the air carrier when fines are issued for delivering passengers with invalid papers. To be precise, penalties are not imposed when passengers without documents arrive by the airline’s proper flights as it is assumed that these individuals held papers required to enter the UK at boarding.

The status is tendered to air companies flying to the UK who meet the following criteria:

— Availability of specially-trained staff to detect false documents;

— Exercise of passport and visa control, obligatory documents’ checking immediately at boarding;

— Efficient interaction with the UK immigration authorities, regular information exchange over latest forgery methods and illegal migration.
