OREANDA-NEWS. BAE Systems Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its belief in the importance of social responsibility and community investment after backing a pioneering initiative led by Al-Faisal University in Riyadh.

At a recent lecture held for students and faculty members at the university, BAE Systems Saudi Arabia’s Community Investment Manager Fahad Khalfan reflected on the university’s “Smile, you are blessed” programme; a charitable scheme established by students to raise donations for worthy causes.

Praising the efforts of the programme, Khalfan also took the opportunity to outline BAE Systems Saudi Arabia’s own commitment to community investment, which includes placing social responsibility in the Kingdom at the heart of its strategic goals.

“Social responsibility programmes are of paramount importance to BAE Systems Saudi Arabia.  As a business we proud to lead a wide range of initiatives and programmes which aim to enhance the communities of the Kingdom and  demonstrate the role the private sector can play in supporting the country."

He continued: "BAE Systems Saudi Arabia has a rich heritage of supporting the Saudi community through charitable activities spanning health education, security and safety, education, and training and development. These remain central to our work today and will continue to be a critical part of our work in the future."
