OREANDA-NEWS. From September 27 through 29, 2012, Air Liquide will be hosting the "European Hydrogen Road Tour" during its stop at the Paris Motor Show in France. The seven hydrogen-powered fuel cell electric cars will be unveiled at the Show.

The European Hydrogen Road Tour 2012 emerged from the H2moves Scandinavia project initiated by the European Commission and European industrial partners.

The aim of the project is twofold: first, to encourage user acceptance of hydrogen-powered fuel cell electric cars, which are eco-friendly because they release only water; and second, to prepare the market for the arrival of hydrogen and fuel cell technology.

Starting from Hamburg, Germany, on September 13, 2012, the European Hydrogen Road Tour lasts for one month, with stops planned in nine European cities. Each stop offers an opportunity for the public to experience this unique form of alternative motorized transportation. In several of these cities, this tour marks the first time the general public will get a chance to see hydrogen-powered fuel cell electric cars up close and even test drive them.

Via a hydrogen filling station, Air Liquide will refuel the Tour vehicles with hydrogen when they stop in Paris for the 2012 Motor Show.
