OREANDA-NEWS. The clean tanker broking desk of EA Gibson Shipbrokers has left the company to join rival shipbrokers Affinity, leaving just the head of the team,.

The lead broker of the clean tanker desk at EA Gibson Danny Proudfoot said today that eight clean tanker brokers have left the London office, and two have left in Singapore, to join Affinity. Proudfoot remains in place as head of clean tanker broking.

In January this year, EA Gibson announced it would split from then parent group energy services company Hunting with ownership transfering to an employee benefit trust.

That move was one of several changes of ownership in the shipbroking sector with Braemar Seascope acquiring ACM Shipping, Howe Robinson saying it would combine with the shipping arm of financial services company Icap, and Clarksons announcing plans to buyout Norway's RS Platou.
