OREANDA-NEWS. Sberbank has been ranked the highest among the banks in Central and Eastern Europe in the annual ranking of the largest banks in the world, published by British magazine The Banker.

Sberbank was ranked 43rd in the overall standings. At the same time, the issuer of the ranking noted that Sberbank could have been in 23rd place if ruble devaluation had not been taken into account.

The Banker is a specialized monthly magazine focused on international finance and owned by The Financial Times Ltd. The magazine is published in London and has carried out the rankings of the world's largest banks annually since 1970.
