OREANDA-NEWS. Amid the economic slump, the demand of the global auto market has plunged since the beginning of this year. Argentina has been no exception as one of the countries with the highest car parc in South America. In the first half of 2015, 301,000 vehicles were sold in Argentina, down 18 percent year on year. In this adverse context, Chery's sales in Argentina were up 44 percent year on year.

Since entering Argentina as an import brand in 2008, Chery has brought best-selling models such as Tiggo, QQ and Fulwin to Argentina, and built 35 dealers in Argentina. Whether in product quality or in after-sales service, Chery has earned wide acclaim locally. By 2014, Chery had overtaken many Japanese and Korean brands to be ranked 12th among 36 auto brands in Argentina. Notably, Chery is also the only Chinese brand in the Argentinean passenger vehicle market.

Argentina's overall vehicle sales have been declining since the beginning of this year. To consolidate its superiority in the market, Chery has taken a series of marketing measures based on consumer demands. To enable consumers to experience Chery's unique charm in close range outside terminal stores, Chery have opened test drive zones in key tourism cities' attractions during Argentina's peak tourist season. All visitors to these zones may get onboard Chery vehicles anytime to enjoy the fun of driving while appreciating the beautiful landscape around; to make Chery vehicles more affordable to consumers, Chery has worked with a couple of renowned credit agencies to offer consumers various loan discounts; in view of consumers' need for daily maintenance, Chery has also launched new after-sales service policies to offer consumers considerate services from presales to after sales. All these marketing activities have become the key drivers for Chery's sales growth in Argentina amid the market slump.

While growing amid the market slump, Chery has been launching more new models in Argentina. At the just concluding 7th Buenos Aires International Motor Show, new strategic models such as Tiggo 5 and Arrizo 7 were presented to accumulate momentum for future sales growth. With the gradual introduction of new models in the future, Chery's position in Argentina will be further enhanced.

By virtue of outstanding products, tremendous service strength and marketing measures catering to local consumers' demands, Chery's prospect in Argentina is becoming increasingly clear. As the only Chinese passenger vehicle brand in Argentina, Chery will set a good example for more Chinese auto brands to enter the market in the future.
