OREANDA-NEWS. Sberbank and the Republic of Tatarstan have signed a cooperation agreement "Cashless Tatarstan". The document was signed by CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank, Herman Gref, and Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov.

The agreement "Cashless Tatarstan" envisages a series of measures that aim to develop non-cash forms of payment throughout the Republic, including a project to issue "Cards for the citizens of the Republic", implementation of the concept "City Without Cash" in several cities in the Republic of Tatarstan, and infrastructure projects that provide for non-cash payments in trade and service businesses. Special attention will be paid to Innopolis, Kazan's satellite city.

"Sberbank and the Republic of Tatarstan are connected by many years of effective cooperation," said Herman Gref. "Tatarstan is already one of the most innovative regions in Russia, and the agreement signed today will allow the Republic to take even bigger strides in implementing innovation."
