OREANDA-NEWS. Lincoln delivered its best July U.S. sales in a decade – up 21 percent over a year ago – driven by strong demand for the luxury brand’s newest SUVs.

“Lincoln is gaining momentum,” said U.S. Sales Analyst Erich Merkle.  “The newest products are arriving at dealerships, and they are really beginning to move Lincoln’s sales numbers.”

Sales of the MKC were up 60 percent over last year, and sales of the new Navigator increased 24 percent.  The all-new Lincoln MKX, which just hit the marketplace, delivered a 27 percent increase and is turning on dealer lots in just six days. All rolled up, Lincoln brand SUV sales were up 24 percent in July, providing their best July sales performance since 2001.

“The new MKX is turning quickly on dealer lots,” said Merkle.  “Customers are very enthusiastic about Lincoln’s newest product.”

Merkle said the progress that Lincoln has made is something to get excited about.

“We’re starting to build momentum for the Lincoln brand,” he said.  “Yes it is still a journey but we have quietly been building our dealer showrooms with new product and it’s showing in Lincoln’s sales results.”
