OREANDA-NEWS. Tokyo Gas signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic collaboration (MOU) with CPC Corporation, Taiwan today to further enhance cooperation and communication between the two companies.

The MOU was signed by Mr. Michiaki Hirose, President of Tokyo Gas and Mr. Sheng-Chung Lin, Chairman of CPC. Ever since the Great East Japan Earthquake, Tokyo Gas has maintained a close working relationship with CPC Corporation, Taiwan through information exchange, with the purpose of lowering Asian LNG import prices. By signing the new MOU, Tokyo Gas seeks an opportunity to further expand and enhance a strategic partnership with CPC Corporation, Taiwan.

The possible areas of collaboration shall include, but is not limited to joint study of:
- Optimization of LNG inventory;
- Collaboration for LNG procurement;
- Cooperation on engineering, technical matters related to natural gas. In its "Challenge 2020 Vision," Tokyo Gas declared its targets to reduce raw materials prices and to realize appropriate Asian market prices.

With these goals in mind, Tokyo Gas will accelerate collaboration with LNG buyers both within and outside Japan.
