OREANDA-NEWS. Cherwell announced today that Cherwell Service Management® software is now available on Microsoft Azure. Cherwell offers customers a choice of deployment options; on-premises, SaaS hosted by Cherwell, and now Windows Azure. Cherwell Service Management software on Azure will enable IT organizations to benefit from the global footprint of Microsoft Azure, along with Azure's enterprise-grade performance, security, privacy, transparency, and compliance.

Cherwell is the developer of Cherwell Service Management, a leading and highly regarded IT service management (ITSM) solution built on a modern, meta-data platform. Cherwell also enables customers to extend and automate business processes beyond ITSM without requiring expensive application development resources. Cherwell Service Management software integrates with numerous third-party solutions, including Microsoft Systems Center. By bridging the gap between on-premises and cloud solutions, Cherwell Service Management software helps customers to more easily manage hybrid cloud solutions and to take advantage of the rich services available through Azure.

Cherwell is committed to customer choice by providing customers with options on how they would like to do business. Because Cherwell uses the same code base regardless of licensing or deployment model, customers are at liberty to change their hosting environment at any time and at no additional cost.

"ITSM tool buyers often fail to consider the full total cost of ownership when they license tools, particularly in SaaS-based agreements," said Robert Young, Research Manager, IDC Enterprise System Management Software and Cloud and Virtualization System Software. "Flexible licensing and deployment options can be useful for IT organizations who need to account for unforeseen changes in funding and resource requirements. The option to move ITSM instances from one data center to another without losing functionality or configurations is a key differentiator in a crowded market."

"We are very excited to provide Cherwell customers the option of Cherwell Service Management software on Azure," said Jason Haggar, CMO, Cherwell. "Microsoft Azure provides enterprise customers with a powerful, global public cloud infrastructure that endears itself to the modern IT organization, who aim to move faster and optimize costs. The combination of the most self-sufficient ITSM solution and one of the world's most scalable cloud platforms means IT organizations can focus on problem analysis and solution identification to grow and transform their business."
