OREANDA-NEWS. German carmaker Volkswagen is considering the export of cars assembled in Russia to other countries because of the sharp drop in demand in the local market.

"Inside division Volkswagen Group Rus it is studied the possibility of exporting of cars from Kaluga," - said the representative of Volkswagen, by adding that the decision is not accepted. The company has already reduced the production at the plant in Kaluga, which produces Volkswagen Polo, Tiguan and Skoda Rapid, writes Reuters agency.

For seven months of this year, sales of cars Volkswagen fell in Russia by 44%. It is unclear where the cars would be delivered from the Kaluga plant. Global manufacturers think about the supplies of assembled in China cars to North America, where the demand is higher.
