OREANDA-NEWS. According to a survey, conducted by the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", together with Auto.ru, only 17% of buyers of used cars (i.e. one in six) are going to contact the bank for a loan. At the same time every seventh respondent (14%) said that for the purchase of the car he will take the missing money from friends or relatives.

Every second potential buyer of used car (52%) said that he will save money for the next car, and he does not intend to borrow money. And one in nine (11%) said that his current income allows the car to change at any time. A number of people (6%) undecided on the issue of the alleged source of money for the next car.

We should note that in the market of new cars, the share of auto loans is now about 40%. According to executive officer of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", Sergei Udalov, banks are less willing to lend the buyers of used cars. This is due to the opaque history of the car and the complexity of determining of the residual value of the car in 3-5 years. In addition, according to Mr.Udalov the share of less reliable borrowers among buyers of used vehicles is higher than it is among the buyers of new cars.

Survey of more than 10,000 car owners was held by Auto.ru in July 2015.
