OREANDA-NEWS. lastminute.com group, a European leader in the online travel and leisure industry and formerly Bravofly Rumbo Group, announced today that the Supreme Court of Spain rejected the cassation appeal motion by Ryanair against online travel agency Rumbo, a Spanish subsidiary of the Group. Rumbo offers on its website flights of Ryanair, along with many other airlines, to ensure customers get access to an extensive flights offering.

The Supreme Court of Spain stated that Rumbo, in performing its travel agency activities, is operating in a completely legal manner with regard to Ryanair. The airline claimed that Rumbo’s activities were infringing its website terms and conditions. However, the Supreme Court ruled that Rumbo, when offering Ryanair flights, is not in breach of the terms and conditions of the airline.

Francesco Signoretti, CEO of lastminute.com group, commented: “We welcome the decision of the Supreme Court of Spain. It is another decision in favour of our business model, but most of all, it is in favour of consumers: It means we can continue to provide them comparison on all available flights, and in return they will benefit from healthy competition as well as market transparency.”

The Supreme Court of Spain confirms the second degree judgment issued by the Audiencia Provincial de Madrid in 2014, which is now final and not subject to further appeal.
