OREANDA-NEWS. Shvabe Holding has taken part in the conduction of science and practical teaching program "Art of lung ventilation with newborns: effective instruments for achieving the results".

Training took place within the framework of the international school organized by Shvabe Holding together with SLE Limited (UK) in Yekaterinburg.

Already for more than 15 years joint developments have been conducted for creating lung ventilation machines for newborns. The agreement on holding teaching workshops and trainings for medical personnel with foreign partners was signed at the INNOPROM-2015 international industrial exhibition. Representatives of the leading medical Russian facilities also took part in the workshop activties.

"Such school for neonatologists and pediatricians is held in Russia for the second time. For the first time it was held in Moscow and just now in Yekaterinburg. The city for holding the event has not been chosen randomly. There is a plant of the modern appliances which today are pride of Russian and medical industry in Yekaterinburg. Because of that, when imports phase-out is spoken of, ear plant runs at once by an ear the Ural optical-mechanical plant being a member of Shvabe Holding Company. Modern equipment, which can replace foreign analogues to the full extent has been manufactured at the enterprise not for the first year," commented Nadezhda Bashmakova, director of FGBOU VPO OMM Research Institute of the RF Ministry of Healthcare, doctor of medical sciences, professor, honored physician of RF, and the head obstetrician - gynecologist in the Ural Federal District.

Neonatologists - resuscitationists of perinatal centers of Sverdlovskaya oblast and other country's regions have become the target audience of the programme. The leading Russian experts and international experts have conducted the theoretical course and practical training sessions aimed at advanced training in the area of newborns treatment. In particular, in the course of the workshop, such topics have been considered as physiology of respiration, high frequency ventilation, lung injury mechanisms and the concept of their protection, recruitment, and pathologies of respiratory organs.

"Treatment of babies with unusually low body weight is one of the thorniest questions of modern neonatology. The new methods of aid delivery imply the whole complex of measures affecting quality of life of such children, including resuscitation events with application of artificial ventilation of lungs (IVL). Shvabe Holding produces supermodern IVL apparatuses and machiens for supporting respiration of newborns, which today are recognized as some of the best apparatuses in the world," commected Anatoliy Sludnykh, Shvabe JSC's deputy general director for sales, foreign economic activity and marketing.

The holding company participates in organizing of education workshops not only for neonatologists but also for medical practitioners in other disciplines. The teaching program at the events is passing with use of a high-quality medical engineering products developed Shvabe, inter alia, a course for forming skill of an IVL instructor.

"To help a child to commit the first artificial sigh is a difficult and complex process consisting of the whole range of events. At lectures I told about importance of training of doctors with use of new technologies, skill to assess condition of babies by the clinical signs. It is necessary to teach physicians how to use new equipment - such equipment is supplied to us by Shvabe Holding. Afterwards it will become an irreplaceable assistant in a salvation of children's lives.

Today at the workshop we have discussed various techniques of artificial high frequency ventilation of lungs and interactive masterclasses were held on resuscitation of newborns with critical body mass," told David Tingei, a representative of the Australian school.
