OREANDA-NEWS. IAI Raspadskaya announces its preliminary operating results for the first nine months of 2015:

In 9m 2015, overall raw coal production reached 7.8 million tonnes, up 13% yoy mainly due to production increase at the Raspadskaya underground mine.

Sales volumes of coking coal concentrate increased by 18% in 9m 2015 yoy to reach 5.0 million tonnes. The main reason behind that was the increased production volumes of raw coal and subsequent increase in coking coal concentrate production and sales.

Domestic sales of coking coal concentrate increased by 12% in 9m 2015 yoy and reached 2.4 million tonnes, mainly due to higher sales of K and KO grade concentrates to the other clients. GZh grade coking coal concentrate sales also increased as result of client base expansion withing the country.

Export of coking coal concentrate reached 2.7 million tonnes or 53% of total coking coal concentrate sales, with 85% shipped to the Asia-Pacific region and 15% to Europe. The growth of coking coal concentrate export volumes was due to the higher sales to Ukraine and markets of the Asia-Pacific region.

Raw coal sales volumes went down by 5% in 9m 2015 yoy due to lower production of GZhO and KO grade coking coal and reached 782 thousand tonnes.

The weighted average selling price of coal concentrate increased by 42% in 9m 2015 yoy in Rouble terms mostly due to higher prices on the domestic market as well as due to higher export prices in Rouble terms due to Rouble devaluation.
