OREANDA-NEWS. Sales of electric vehicles in the world continue to grow. In the current year, according to the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", they exceeded 400 thousand units. In comparison with 2014 year, when it was sold 318,000 electric vehicles, the market will grow by 30%.

The largest car market in the world will be China. For nine months in China it was sold almost 100,000 cars. Best-selling model – is BYD Qin with 26 thousand sold cars.

The second largest market in the world is the US, where for the first three quarters of this year, it was sold 82,000 vehicles with electric drive. The leader in the domestic for itself market is Tesla Model S with a volume of 15.5 million vehicles. 

In Europe, since the beginning of the year it was sold 121 thousand electric cars. Growth for the year could exceed 50% in comparison with 100 thousand sold cars in 2014. The most sold model in the Old World with electric drive is Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV with a volume of 19,600 units for the first nine months. It is followed by Nissan Leaf (12,8 thousand units) and Renault Zoe (11,7 thousand units). Tesla Model S occupied the fourth position with a volume of 10.6 thousand units.

The share of electric cars in the market is growing visibly in the world. For example, in the largest market - in China, for 9 months it was 0.7%, compared with 0.25% of the last year and 0.09% - in the previous year, in Germany – European largest market, it rose to 0 63% from the last year's 0.44%. At the same time in some European countries, the share of electric cars has reached very significant digits - in Norway 22% compared to 14% of the last year, and in the Netherlands 6% and 4%, respectively.

Russia, with its oil reserves and loyal environmental requirements, is out of the global trend. So for the first nine months of this year, according to the agency "AUTOSTAT", it was purchased a little more than a hundred of electric vehicles, among which 48 - Tesla. "The situation in Russia will be kept for a very long time, - says Sergey Udalov, the executive director of the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT". - Sales of cars with electric drive are developing rapidly in those countries, where it is driven by a significant reduction in taxes on a car without emissions, subsidies for its purchase and special opportunities for entry and parking in areas, closed to other vehicles as well as a developed network of "electric power stations". We cannot boast of any one of these factors to stimulate buying".
