As part of its long-term strategy of localization, the company Ford Sollers started the serial equipment of engines, the production of which is adjusted at the plant in Yelabuga, aluminum parts from the company "Rusal". Since the start of production all engines produced in the plant Ford Sollers have a significant level of localization, by getting the basic components from Russian suppliers, and they are made from local raw materials.

As the press service of the Ford Sollers informed, aluminum alloys "Rusal" have successfully passed the homologation tests and they are used for mass production of engine components of Ford. The cylinder block, cylinder head, crankshaft bearing caps are made foundry plant "RosALit" / "ZMZ" (Zavolzhie), and the piston of the engine – by "Kostroma plant of automotive components" (Kostroma), and then they are supplied to the engine-plant of Ford Sollers in Yelabuga.

In addition to the motor components, alloys of "Rusal" are also used for the local production of wheels for the whole lineup of cars of Ford in Russia. The production of wheels for Russian models Ford is adjusted at "LMZ SCUD" (Divnogorsk). In 2008, the company awarded the status of preferred supplier of Ford Motor Company Q1.

In the future, Ford Sollers is considering the possibility to use alloys of "Rusal" for radiators, the production of which is localized in Nizhny Novgorod. Aluminium alloys for Ford Sollers are produced at Novokuznetsk aluminum plant of RUSAL.
