OREANDA-NEWS. Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies (KRET), which is part of Rostec Corporation, is participating in the reconstruction of Russia's northern-most hydropower plant.

As part of the modernization of the Ust-Khantaika Hydroelectric Power Plant, a new hydraulic unit produced by Tyazhmash was installed with automatic control equipment developed by Ulyanovsk Instrument Manufacturing Design Bureau (UIMDB), which is part of KRET.

"Experts from UIMDB have worked at the hydroelectric power plant since September 2015. They participated in the installation and commissioning of the №4 automatic burner control equipment," according to the press service. "The hydraulic unit was started and idled with and without agitation to the hydrogenerator, system measurement and synchronization were tested, and the conditions for the normal and emergency stop of the hydraulic unit in automatic mode were also checked."

UIMDB systems will significantly improve the facility's operational safety, as well as its ease of use and maintenance.
