OREANDA-NEWS. Rostelecom PJSC, Russia's national telecommunications operator, today announces that the Company now covers 30 million households with its fibre optic broadband network, highlighting Rostelecom's leading market position.

The modernisation and expansion of the fibre optic network is a key component of Rostelecom's strategy, aimed at delivering new range of high-quality services.

Sergey Kalugin, President of Rostelecom, commented: "Rostelecom is nearing the conversion of its last mile network to fibre optic, aimed at increasing our coverage to 33 million households in 2016. The modernisation of the network will provide our customers with a full range of modern telecommunication services at a speed of up to 1GB/ sec.

Moreover, the completion of the capital-intensive modernisation programme will create the conditions for a visible reduction in the Company's Capex commitments starting next year, releasing more funds available for dividends."
