OREANDA-NEWS. JSC "Berezovsky opem strip mine" a part of the Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK), finished November with production records for all main work types: coal mining and shipping.

Within overburden operations the miners have set an absolute record of the year, moving 570,600 cubic meters of rock mass to dumps against the planned 490 000 cubic meters. Alexander Buynitsky, the head of Open Stip-mine Berezovsky, noted that "thanks to the high productivity at the uncovering stages, the rest of the production facilities are able to operate at high performance levels. We are links in one chain, and each link works with heart, which allows us to move ahead of schedule. This is a very pleasing experience."

November was also the successful month with regards to coal mining: nearly 900 thousand tons of solid fuel were shipped to consumers. Last time the miners showed similar results back in December 2009. "This result isn't the limit, - said Alexander Buynitsky. - Commissioning of the third power unit at Berezovskaya GRES gives our enterprise the momentum for more dynamic development and opens up prospects for increased production".

From 2013 to SUEK is implementing a large-scale investment project at Open Stip-mine Berezovsky, aimed at increasing its production levels and improving the reliability of fuel supplies to its Power Plant. Modernization of the conveyor belt, connecting the strip-mine and the power plant, is implemented with the use of the latest innovative technologies. This unique structure is almost 15 kilometers long and allows transportation of coal at the speed of 4 meters per second. At this rate the GRES receives around 6 million tons of coal every year.

In 2016 SUEK has planned a large amount of work on  lengthening the conveyor belt, as well as the electrical equipment update of one of the main mining machines at Berezovsky Strip-mine - the ERSHRD-5250 rotary complex.
