OREANDA-NEWS. Aviva today announces that Maurice Tulloch, currently Chairman, Global General Insurance and Chief Executive Officer of UK General Insurance (UKGI), will be moving to focus full time on his global general insurance (GI) role in order to maximise the potential and growth of Aviva’s GI businesses across the Group.

Aviva is intending to appoint a new CEO for UKGI, reporting to Maurice, to allow Maurice to spend more of his time on his global role. Until this appointment is made, Maurice will continue as Chief Executive Officer of UK GI.

Once the new CEO of UKGI is appointed, Maurice will continue to divide his time between the UK, Canada and other GI operations across the Group. Maurice will continue to chair the Association of British Insurers’ General Insurance Committee and continue in his role as Chairman of ClimateWise.

Maurice Tulloch, Chairman, Global General Insurance and Chief Executive Officer, UK General Insurance said:

“We have a tremendous opportunity to build an exciting future for general insurance in Aviva. To do so we must share best practice across all our markets, particularly in areas such as underwriting, pricing, claims management and efficiency.

UKGI will be at the forefront of this and I will stay close to a business that I am incredibly proud of, and with people that I have worked with in the UK insurance industry over the last few years. We will appoint an outstanding leader as the new CEO of UKGI - the fantastic people who work hard each and every day to support our customers deserve nothing less.

Until that appointment is made, it is business as usual and I will split my time between UK and global GI roles.”
