OREANDA-NEWS. Nestle and three other companies will donate up to 6.5 million bottles of water to meet the needs of more than 10,000 schoolchildren in crisis-hit Flint, Michigan for the rest of this year.

Tap water in Flint became contaminated with lead after the city switched its supply from the Detroit water system to the Flint River in April 2014, while a pipeline under a nearby lake was being built.

Since October 2015, Nestle Waters North America has already donated more than 190,000 bottles to community organisations in the city.
