OREANDA-NEWS. In 2015 JSC Freight One (Freight One) transported over 36 mln tons of iron ore, up 7% YoY. The goods turnover in this segment grew 35%, reaching 44 bln tkm. Freight One?s share in the total ore traffic on the Russian Railways network increased from 22% to 27%.

The positive dynamics was backed by the Company?s customer-focused services, including arrangement of optimal logistics, freight routing, timely supply of railcars to the loading stations, and 24-hour railcar location monitoring, as well as efficient cooperation of the Company?s specialists with major Russian iron and steel holdings, namely OJSC Novolipetsk Steel, JSC Severstal, and UC Rusal on the basis of long term service contracts.

The increase of indices was also encouraged by export ore traffic growth, caused by the devaluated Russian ruble.

In particular, over the year 2015 domestic ore transportation in Freight One?s railcars increased 8%, totaling 30.6 mln tons, export shipments grew 13%, reaching 4.3 mln tons, while the import share rose more than 2.5 times to 1.25 mln tons.

Goods were carried via the Russian Railways network to industrial enterprises in Russia, the CIS countries, and China, while imports were carried from Ukraine and Australia to Russian aluminum producers.
