OREANDA-NEWS. According to Rosstat, in 2015 the Russian assembly line produced 1.2 million cars – it is less by 27.7% than a year before.

The leader of the Russian car industry, AVTOVAZ, in the last year began to update the model range LADA. In September, the Izhevsk car plant started the production of the new sedan LADA Vesta, and in December in the assembly line of plant in Togliatti there is another novelty - a hatchback LADA XRAY.

With regard to the production of foreign cars, in the last year the foreign carmakers continued to expand the model range of Russian assembly (Datsun mi-DO, Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Elantra, Nissan Qashqai, BMW X4, KIA Sorento Prime etc.). Meanwhile, in terms of the continued decline in demand for cars in Russia, many foreign car plants practiced the conveyor downtime and reduced working shifts, and General Motors rolled out the production in our country, by leaving the Russian market.

The leader by volumes of cars at the end of 2015 is still St. Petersburg plant Hyundai, issuing 229,500 vehicles (-3.2%), of which 129.4 thousand - Hyundai Solaris (-2,2%) and 100.1 thousand - KIA Rio (-4,4%). Nissan at its St. Petersburg plant produced more than 33.6 thousand cars Nissan (+ 6%), while the engines of growth were SUVs Nissan X-Trail and Nissan Qashqai. Totally in 2015, Russia produced 107,000 vehicles Nissan: X-Trail, Pathfinder, and Qashqai, produced in St. Petersburg, Almera, which is assembled at the facilities of AvtoVAZ in Togliatti, and the Sentra and Tiida from Izhevsk. The Russian plant "Toyota Motor" produced 32 882 sedans Toyota Camry in the last year (-10,2%). GM-AVTOVAZ’s conveyor produced 34218 Chevrolet Niva cars – it is less by 24.1% than a year before.
