OREANDA-NEWS. Power management company Eaton will discuss its commitment to making a “net positive” impact on issues related to sustainability during a panel discussion at GreenBiz 16, to be held February 23 to 25 in Phoenix.

Claire Castleman, Eaton sustainability analyst, will be participating in the 8:30 a.m., February 25 session, “Net Positive: Enabling and Measuring Sustainability Benefits.” The session will discuss how several leading corporations are making “net positive” commitments as a way of doing business that puts back more into society, the environment and the global economy than it takes out. In addition to Eaton, the session will feature speakers from AT&T, Forum for the Future, Harvard School of Public Health, BSR, Dell and Owens Corning.

At Eaton, Castleman leads the development and application of net positive methodologies — or leaving a positive “handprint” by going beyond a company’s footprint and paying similar attention to how it can make positive contributions to the environment and our health. Eaton is a member of the Sustainability and Health Initiative for NetPositive Enterprise (SHINE), an organization affiliated with the Center for Health and the Global Environment at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health that works to measure and accelerate corporations’ positive impact on the world.

The eighth annual GreenBiz Forum is produced by media company GreenBiz Group, which works with companies to integrate environmental responsibility into their operations in a manner that supports profitable business practices.
