Project of GAZ Group was Announced Investment Project of Year
OREANDA-NEWS. The Project of GAZ Group, part of one of the major Russian diversified groups - Basic Element, for localization of the YaMZ-530 engine components was announced the Investment Project of 2015 in the N. Novgorod Region. The components localized at the GAZ N. Novgorod Site will be installed in medium diesel 4- and 6-cylinder YaMZ engines within the framework of the import replacement program. The investments in development and production of the cylinder blocks and heads for the diesel engines at OJSC GAZ amount to RUR 120 M.
The project of the GAZ Group Autocomponent Division for development of components for the YaMZ-530 engines won the Investment Project of 2015 contest in the N. Novgorod Region that annually awards the projects most important for social and economic development of the region.
The first basic stage of the project for development of engine components within the import replacement program was implemented in 2015: specialists of GAZ developed the technologies requirement for all the product types, completed preproduction and started production of cylinder block castings for the 4-cylinder YaMZ-530 engine. The SOP of the cylinder block casting for the 6-cylinder engine and the cylinder block castings for the entire range of the YaMZ-530 engines is scheduled for 2016. YaMZ-530 is the most modern Russian development of diesel engines installed in various vehicles including trucks, buses, agro and road construction vehicles.
Production of high-strength cast iron with increased plasticity properties that had almost never been used in the Russian automotive sector was started and the metal structure automatic control equipment was integrated at the GAZ N. Novgorod Site promptly. The project involves110 employees of OJSC GAZ.
