OREANDA-NEWS. Analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" conducted a study of the Russian market of new passenger cars, which covered the premium segment. According to the study, by the results of two months of 2016, for the purchase of 20,000 premium cars in Russia it was spent almost 84 billion rubles, which is more by 7% than a year before.

Most of all in the premium segment, Russians spent on passenger cars Mercedes-Benz, which were sold in the amount of 6.4 thousand units. As a consequence, the German brand's revenue in January - February of this year was 32.6 billion rubles, by showing an increase of 9% compared to the previous year. This is equivalent to 39% of the total sales in the premium segment. Then with a two-time lag there is another premium brand from Germany - BMW, the result of which, due to the sale of 4.7 thousand vehicles, was 16.2 billion rubles (-13%). The share of "Bavarians" in total revenues was 19%. The top-three of leaders is closed by Japanese Lexus - for the purchase of 2.5 thousand of such vehicles Russians spent 9.6 billion rubles (share - 11%), by exceeding 2.4 times the previous year.

Analysts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" noted, sales of premium-class in Russia fell by 15% for two months of 2016, but due to the fact that the cars themselves became more expensive by 20%, there was a growth in revenue.
