OREANDA-NEWS. Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, has summed up results of technical development in the Moscow Region in 1Q16. Over three months of the year the number of base stations increased 7%.

Tele2 continues developing mobile services in Moscow Region: in 1Q16 the operator has improved the quality of connections in residential areas and the centre of the city. Thus, a stable signal appeared in popular pedestrian and tourist zones of the city, for example, in Arbat, Pokrovka, Patriarshiye and Chistyye Prudy, the Boulevard Ring, the Muzeon Park and the Gorkiy Central Recreation and Leisure Park. The operator’s technical service has increased the network capacity at Moscow thoroughfares: Sevastopolskiy, Leninskiy, Michurinskiy, Leningradskiy Prospekt, Tverskaya, Taganskaya and Avtozavodskaya Ulitsa, Prospekt Mira, Kiyevskoye, Kashirskoye, Shchelkovskoye, Borovskoye, Rublevo-Uspenskoye Shosse, Savvinskaya and Presnenskaya Naberezhnaya, Vernadskogo Prospekt, Ulitsa Krymskiy Val, Novyy Arbat, Ulitsa Narodnogo Opolcheniya, Sushchevskiy Val, Profsoyuznaya Ulitsa and the Moscow Ring Road.

In 1Q16 the operator has continued providing high-quality mobile connections in shopping and sports centres of the city. Tele2 has carried out technical works in shopping centres GUM, Moskva, Mega Teplyy Stan, Gorod, Oblaka, Taganskiy Passazh, Moskvorechye, Galereya Aeroport as well Moscow region shopping centres: Novyye Khimki, Panfilovskiy in Zelenograd, Krasnyy Kit in Krasnogorsk. Besides, Tele2 services became available in the Arena legend ice hockey stadium and on the territory of the Snezhkom ski complex in Krasnogorsk.

Over three past months the operator has launched 3G/4G networks at five stations of the Moscow underground: Alma-Atinskaya, Lesoparkovaya, Bitsevskiy Park, Rumyantsevo and Salaryevo. High-quality voice and mobile Internet are now available at 15 ground and 16 underground stations of the Moscow underground.

As a result of large-scale works carried out over a year and a half, the high-quality services became available on the territory where 99% of Moscow residents live. 

One of the company’s priority directions is development of the network in Moscow satellites. Over the reported period, Tele2 was the first to have provided multifunctional migration centre with connections, to have increased the network capacity in the Skolkovo innovation centre, shopping and business centres. High-quality services appeared in over 40 residential areas of Voskresenskoye, Vnukovskoye, Voronovskoye, Filimonskovskoye, Sosenskoye, Krasnopakhorskoye, Moskovskoye, Shchapovskoye settlements, city district of Troitsk and Mosrentgen settlement.

Over the reported period, new base stations have been built in over 150 residential areas on the territory of 53 districts of Moscow Region. Over three months, the company has commissioned 75% of Tele2 base stations in the region. The company is now providing high-quality coverage on the territory where over 90% of the Moscow Region residents live.

One of the main directions for the technical development is a goal to provide stable connections indoors and expand the network coverage in Moscow Region. In 1Q16 most works have been carried out in Moscow surroundings – its satellites and small residential areas, including those located in the metropolitan area. We are striving to roll out networks in Moscow Region so that high-quality and affordable services would be available to more residents.”
