OREANDA-NEWS. The first equity index ETF from First Trust has been tradable via Xetra and Börse Frankfurt since Wednesday. Smart beta ETFs enable European investors to participate in the performance of the NASDAQ AlphaDEX Germany Index with the aim of generating positive alpha compared to indices traditionally weighted by market capitalisation.

The NASDAQ AlphaDEX Germany Index comprises 40 companies with registered offices in Germany that are included in the underlying NASDAQ Germany Index. Companies are selected using the AlphaDEX method, taking into account growth factors such as share price performance, revenue growth, price-to-sales ratio as well as value growth factors, such as price-to-book and price-to-cash-flow ratios, and return on capital.
