Nevada Assembly Speaker visits SOCAR

OREANDA-NEWS. On April 5, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev hosted Speaker of Nevada Assembly John Hambrick at the SOCAR’s head office. SOCAR President cordially welcomed the guests and said there was successful strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the United States and Azerbaijan has established friendly relations with different states of the US, including Nevada. He spoke about the role of economic, as well as energy cooperation in the development of bilateral relations between the countries, informed the guests about the history and development of Azerbaijan’s oil and gas industry, global projects implemented by SOCAR and their achievements. SOCAR President underlined the important role of Azerbaijan in European energy security and Southern Gas Corridor, which aims at transportation of Caspian gas to Europe.

Speaker of Nevada Assembly John Hambrick kindly spoke about his visit to Azerbaijan and hospitality they saw here. He said he held a series of meetings in Baku and believed these meetings would be useful for the development of economic cooperation between Nevada and Azerbaijan.

Referring to long-time, effective cooperation between SOCAR and the US oil companies, Rovnag Abdullayev said American companies were successfully operating in both oil and non-oil sectors of Azerbaijan. He said there were efficient investment environment and good opportunities for successful operation within the national interests of the country.

The meeting focused on other issues concerned both sides.
