OREANDA-NEWS. The Dutch authorities should contact Russian President Vladimir Putin to agree on the supply of the Russian vaccine against the Sputnik V coronavirus to the country. This opinion was expressed by the deputy of the Dutch parliament, leader of the "Freedom Party" Geert Wilders.

As Wilders wrote on his Twitter: "I again urge Prime Minister Rutte to contact Russian President Putin to negotiate a delivery of the successful Russian Sputnik V vaccine or to organize quickly its production in the country."

Earlier, the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sports of the Netherlands told RIA Novosti that the Hague admits the possibility of purchasing the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, if it receives permission to sell in the EU and is available in sufficient quantities. At the same time, the Ministry of Health noted that no negotiations with the Russian side on this vaccine are planned so far.

Earlier, the authoritative scientific journal Lancet published the results of the third phase of clinical trials Sputnik V, which confirmed the high efficacy and safety of the Russian drug against coronavirus. In the course of the third phase of clinical trials, Sputnik V has confirmed high levels of efficacy, immunogenicity and safety. According to the study, the effectiveness of the vaccine was 91.6%. The vaccine provides complete protection against severe cases of the new coronavirus infection. Sputnik V has already been approved in more than 30 countries and is growing.
