OREANDA-NEWS. Russian politicians commented on the refusal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba to use the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine for ideological reasons.

The day before, Kuleba opposed the purchase of the Russian drug, even when its effectiveness was proven. He noted that Kiev will not use Sputnik V, even if it is cheaper than competitors. The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry explained his position by the fact that Russia "does not care about the health of Ukrainians," but uses the vaccine to advance its goals.

Senator Franz Klintsevich called the minister a traitor to his people, noting the shortsightedness of his statements. According to the parliamentarian, Kuleba's actions are aimed at discrediting Russia.

"Negotiations on the supply of the vaccine are being conducted not from an ideological, but from a humanitarian and commercial point of view," Klintsevich said in an interview with the Vzglyad newspaper.

He stressed that Moscow supported the initiative of Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the Ukrainian Opposition Platform for Life party, who offered to buy Sputnik V, and pointed out that the Kiev authorities themselves are being vaccinated with the Russian vaccine.

Klintsevich drew attention to the fact that "Sputnik V" had already proved its effectiveness, and expressed confidence that Ukrainian officials would "shout a little", but then a "positive result" would be achieved.

The parliament has repeatedly called on the head of state to purchase Sputnik V. As the deputies noted, the refusal of the Ukrainian authorities from the Russian vaccine without providing citizens with any alternative is complicity in the murder of the population.
