OREANDA-NEWS  Kamchatka State Technical University is preparing documents for obtaining a patent for the technology of producing pollock noodles, there are no analogues of such a product in Russia, Rosrybolovstvo reported in its Telegram channel.

"Artem Boyko, a student of Kamchatka State Technical University (KAMCHATSTU) of Rosrybolovstvo, as part of a team of researchers from the Department of Food Biotechnology, developed a technology for producing pollock noodles. The work was carried out on the instructions of Rosrybolovstvo," the agency said.

Pollock noodles are an eco–friendly high-protein product, which has no analogues in Russia; now Kamchatka State Technical University is preparing documents for obtaining a patent for its production technology. In parallel, work is underway to increase the shelf life of the product: according to scientists, it may well enter the diet of a healthy diet - for example, it will help solve the problem of overweight, the agency points out.

"Noodles obtained in Kamchatka are a pollock product that imitates freeze–dried pasta, which is enough to pour boiling water. It is characterized by a high content of animal protein, Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, collagen, selenium and all the beneficial properties of pollock are also present there," the message also says.

Last year, Russian fishermen extracted a record amount of pollock - the catch reached 1.96 million tons, updating the record of the last 25 years, the Association of Pollock Miners (ADM) reported earlier. This fish itself is the main commercial resource of the country, its share in the national catch has reached almost 36%, and the total volume of production from it has increased by 7.4%, to 1.088 million tons.
