OREANDA-NEWS. Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, has launched LTE networks in Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk and Novosibirsk regions. High-speed wireless Internet in the 4G standard is available to residents of 23 Russian regions.

Tele2 launched 4G networks in Yekaterinburg, three cities of Chelyabinsk Region and five large residential areas of Novosibirsk Region. By the end of the year the operator will considerably expand the network coverage in these regions. The company launched the LTE network in the 800 MHz frequency band and used the 800 and 1800 MHz spectrum in Chelyabinsk and Novosibirsk regions.

In order to provide Tele2 subscribers with high-speed wireless Internet, Tele2 employees have upgraded switching centres in the regions, built new base stations and replaced equipment at operating facilities. When rolling out LTE networks, the operator has used modern equipment by Ericsson и Nokia Networks.

Tele2 is offering a unique range of bundle tariffs that differ in volume of included data, a number of minutes and SMS. Besides, the operator has envisaged special options for those who want to use all opportunities of high-speed wireless Internet and keep their current tariff.

The 4G services are available to Tele2 subscribers in Moscow and Moscow Region, St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region, in Chelyabinsk, Kemerovo, Orel, Novosibirsk, Rostov, Sverdlovsk, Tambov, Tula, Ulyanovsk and Voronezh regions, the Chuvash Republic, republics of Komi, Mordovia, Khakasia and Karelia, the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygeya, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area. By the end of 2016, the operator is planning to launch LTE networks in two more regions of the country.
