OREANDA-NEWS. Fortum Charge & Drive continues their expansion in the UK by providing the Cloud Solution for EV Driver Ltd,  located near Ipswich, East Anglia.

The cooperation was finalised at the InterCharge Conference in Berlin where both EV Driver and Fortum Charge & Drive are promoting the need for Interoperability between Charge Point Operators and a seamless ‘roaming’ experience for the end user.

Fortum Charge & Drive’s Rami Syväri explained:
“We are very enthusiastic about the cooperation with EV Driver and totally support their focused offering for the East Anglian region. We have seen in Norway that the successful operation of an extensive network of 1400 charging stations requires fast response times, which means expert, local repairs and maintenance teams on hand to service our charging stations. With this in mind, we are looking forward to working with EV Driver; they will provide the reliable and responsive service that is needed from an Operator, and we will provide our cloud solution, which enables remote monitoring and upgrades, and provides easy methods of payment at the charging stations."

EV Driver’s Linda Grave commented:
“We selected the Fortum Charge & Drive system because Fortum has a wealth of experience and their system supports our business model, promoting the EV Driver brand as a highly professional and forward thinking company that both owns our own network of charging stations as well as operating charging stations for other companies across East Anglia. The synergy between the two companies was obvious from the outset, and we are delighted to be working with Fortum to create a robust and reliable network throughout the UK that connects our drivers with the extensive Fortum network."

EV Driver
EV Driver is building a network of reliable EV charge points across the UK, starting in the East of England. Drivers need reliable charge units with easy access and no monthly or annual subscription fees; we provide a pay-as-you-go service backed up with a multilingual, 24/7 customer helpline. We pride ourselves on exceptional customer service.

The co-owners of this business, Linda Grave and Robbie Gawthrop, have been running a very successful renewable energy business for 10 years. They have a large number of existing customers with a passion for renewable energy and have seen first-hand the appetite for EVs growing over the last 3 years. The concept for the new company was borne from the knowledge and experience gained over this time.
