OREANDA-NEWS. IDGC of Centre got ready for operation through the flood period. At the beginning of the year, in each branch of the company, special flood commissions were set up, coordinating work on preparing for the spring flood. IDGC of Centre established cooperation with local authorities, territorial bodies of Roshydromet, units of EMERCOM to obtain forecasts of the time and expected character of the spring flood, the maximum levels of water rise in rivers, possible risks and emergency situations during the flood period, predictive and operational information on weather conditions, contributing to the intensive melting of snow and the risk of flooding.

All power facilities of IDGC of Centre subject to the greatest risk of possible flooding are equipped with benchmarks for measuring the water level, protected from ice and regularly inspected by operating and repair crews for damage to foundations. Power lines providing power output of power plants, and power supply for socially significant facilities are under special control of the power engineers. To ensure their reliable operation, monitoring of flooded areas was carried out, circuits for reserve power supply to consumers and routes for locating and deploying diesel generators were developed.

The company’s specialists checked the technical condition of floating equipment, stationary and mobile pumps, as well as other special equipment, machines and mechanisms necessary to prevent and promptly eliminate possible flooding of power grid facilities.

Monitoring of the change in the flood situation is carried out around the clock. Operational information immediately enters the operational and situational centre of IDGC of Centre. In case of need, the power engineers are ready to take promptly the necessary measures to eliminate consequences of contingencies.
