OREANDA-NEWS. August 04, 2016. The American Petroleum Institute (API) today welcomed Michael Tadeo and Brooke Sammon to its communications team as spokespersons.

“Tadeo and Sammon bring expertise, experience and energy to our team during one of the most significant periods in our industry’s history,” said API President and CEO Jack Gerard.  “As the United States has become the largest producer of oil and natural gas in the world, and is leading the world in lowering carbon and other emissions, both communicators will talk about the importance of our industry to creating jobs, strengthening our national security, and providing affordable and reliable energy for American consumers.”

Tadeo served as the deputy communications director for the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee under Chairman Lisa Murkowski of Alaska. Prior to that Tadeo was a producer for FOX News. Tadeo is a graduate of Fordham University.

Sammon joins API after serving as national spokeswoman for Marco Rubio’s presidential campaign. Prior to that, she worked as press secretary in Rubio’s Senate office. Sammon is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

API is the only national trade association representing all facets of the oil and natural gas industry, which supports 9.8 million U.S. jobs and 8 percent of the U.S. economy. API’s more than 650 members include large integrated companies, as well as exploration and production, refining, marketing, pipeline, and marine businesses, and service and supply firms. They provide most of the nation’s energy and are backed by a growing grassroots movement of more than 30 million Americans.
