OREANDA-NEWS. Specialists of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region continue to work in the mode of ultimate mobilization in the conditions of the thunderstorm that hit Central Russia on the weekend.

Please, be reminded that on Saturday and Sunday showers, thunderstorms and stormy wind caused power failures in several regions of the service area of both companies. In the service area of IDGC of Centre the bad weather affected, in particular, the Lipetsk, Voronezh, Orel and Kursk regions. Among the affected regions of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region are the Kaluga, Ryazan, Vladimir, Tula and Kirov regions. The cause of power outages in most cases was the fall of trees and branches on power line, as well as the cross-whipping and breakage of wires due to strong wind.

Power engineers met the impact of the elements fully armed. In the branches where the weather deterioration was forecasted, the day before, special control over the operation of power facilities was established and first responding and repair personnel were mobilized. This allowed to minimize the negative consequences. The emergency response crews immediately reacted to the emerging technological violations, promptly moving to the site of the failure and proceeding to eliminate the effects of bad weather.

Power engineers worked continuously, replacing each other. If necessary, mobile crews from those neighbouring regions were sent to help them, which were not affected by the elements. First of all, socially important facilities were powered up. The measures taken allowed for the maximum possible for such situations provision of stable electricity supply to consumers of the regions in the main grid.

Currently, the specialists of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region are eliminating the remaining technological violations in the sections of 6-10 kV high-voltage lines, including those located in the customer’s service area - there work is being carried out according to their requests.

Power engineers control the situation in all regions and are ready to react quickly to possible violations in the operation of the power grid complex. All necessary measures are taken to ensure reliable operation of equipment and uninterrupted power transmission to consumers in the event of a new cyclone impact.
