OREANDA-NEWS. June 06, 2016. Power management company Eaton today announced that it’s a recipient of the 2016 CIO 100 Award. The 29th annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology.

CIO magazine recognized Eaton’s advanced analytics capabilities, which deliver rich insights into Eaton customer behavior.

“This technology is the foundation for a deeper dive into the customer engagement experience by understanding digital body language, prospecting and affinity analytics,” said Bill Blausey, Eaton senior vice president and chief information officer. “Our enhanced analytics enables accelerated cross-sell and up-sell across 200+ disparate systems. It’s an interactive journey that takes Eaton from the realm of static operational analytics and KPI reporting to a world of visual exploration, segmentation and predicting customer behavior.”

In September 2014 Eaton embarked on a journey to deliver enhanced customer cross-sell and up-sell capacity dramatically increasing the value proposition. The new analytics suite has many features including:

  • An integrated view of customers and products across multiple complex data sets
  • Sales professionals can quickly identify prospects within their territory
  • A product recommendation engine to cross sell between divisions
  • Applies machine learning algorithms to sales invoices to mine for behaviors and make targeted recommendations for cross selling

The enhanced analytics produced immediate and impactful results, incorporating 88 percent of sales generating customers into the application suite, with enriched segmentation and selling relationships for advanced analytics.

“Delivering innovation and business value are top priorities for CIOs everywhere, and our CIO 100 awards program celebrates the leading IT organizations that excel at both,” said Maryfran Johnson, editor in chief of CIO events. “Our 2016 winners are raising the bar even higher this year with their outstanding work in digital transformation, customer focus and IT-business collaboration.”

Executives from the winning companies will be recognized at the CIO 100 Symposium & Awards Ceremony, to be held Tuesday August 16, at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.

Recipients of this year’s CIO 100 Award were selected through a three-step process. First, companies completed an on-line application detailing their innovative IT business initiatives. Next, a team of external judges reviewed the applications in depth, looking for leading-edge IT practices and measurable results. Finally, CIO editors reviewed the judges’ evaluations and selected the final 100.
