OREANDA-NEWS. A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Peter Szijjarto, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, took place today at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2016.

The parties addressed the ongoing cooperation in the gas sector, placing a focus on Russian gas supplies to Hungary and its transit to third countries, as well as on the use of underground gas storage capacities in Hungary.

In 2015, Russian gas exports to Hungary grew by 15.2 per cent to 6.14 billion cubic meters. It was noted that from June 1 through June 15, 2016, the exports had increased by 21.8 per cent compared to the same period of 2015.

The official opening ceremony for the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum was held on June 16. The main events of SPIEF 2016 will take place at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre. Forum Central Venue
