OREANDA-NEWS. Bulgarian President Rumen Radev stated that in negotiations with Russia on lowering natural gas prices, political will must be shown, as the discussions that are ongoing today cannot achieve the desired result. According to him, prices for Russian gas for Bulgaria are still excessively high.

The head of state criticized the actions of the Minister of Energy of Bulgaria Temenuzhka Petkova. “She needs to think about whether she does her job well,” Radev said. He noted that “the price of gas is the most important topic today,” and a discussion of this issue is “a continuation of my conversation with President Putin in Saint Petersburg at the beginning of July last year.” The Bulgarian leader pointed out that eight countries became participants in the gas deal between Russian corporation Gazprom and the European Commission, and only Bulgaria did not achieve price reduction.
