OREANDA-NEWS The German government will announce the introduction of the so-called emergency situation mode on July 8 amid the tense situation with gas supplies to the country, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper said citing informed sources, Gazeta.ru reported.

At the moment in Germany there is the first level of readiness within the framework of the emergency plan to ensure energy security. According to it, the Federal Network Agency has to report every day on the fuel supply situation.

The second state of readiness means that the government has the right to recommend that companies save gas. In this case, the situation is still regulated at the market level, without interfering with price regulation.

The day before, the daily Die Welt reported with reference to sources in the Cabinet Office that the German government intends to raise the gas supply standby level to the second of three within the next few days.

On the same day, it was reported that Denmark and the Netherlands had introduced the first level of the emergency gas supply warning regime due to possible supply disruptions from Russia. This measure was announced as a signal to market participants due to the threat of a supply crisis.
