OREANDA-NEWS. As of October 24, natural gas reserves in Ukrainian underground storage facilities amount to about 18.5 billion cubic meters. This is more than a third less than in 2020. This is stated on the website of the country's gas storage operator Ukrtransgaz.
It is noted that pumping into storage facilities has been stopped since October 4 and at the moment gas is being taken from storage facilities in the amount of approximately 24 million cubic meters per day.

In early October, the head of Ukrtransgaz, Sergey Pereloma, stated that Ukraine had accumulated 18.7 billion cubic meters of gas in storage, which is already enough to pass the heating season in the absence of force majeure.

Earlier it was reported that gas in Ukraine's underground storage facilities turned out to be 26% less than a year ago, due to the country's attempt to save money. This was stated by the Ukrainian expert Dmitry Marunich. He believes that Ukrainian consumers of blue fuel are facing winter «on the verge». Marunich noted that last winter was warm, but it is not known what the next one will be. He warned the residents of the country about the current situation.
