OREANDA-NEWS The Russian company Gazprom has reduced gas pumping through the territory of Ukraine by five percent. This is reported by RBC with reference to the concern's data for September 30 and October 1.

It is specified that on September 30, a little more than 40 million cubic meters of gas were supplied, the next day the supply decreased and reached 37.9 million. In addition, on both days, Ukraine rejected an application for pumping gas through the gas distribution station (GIS) "Sokhranovka".

Earlier, Gazprom explained the sharp reduction in supplies to all markets. Russian gas supplies to domestic and foreign markets decreased by 26.5 percent in the first half of 2023, amounting to 166 billion cubic meters against 225.7 billion a year earlier.

Production during this period also sharply decreased by a comparable 24.7 percent, to 179.5 billion cubic meters, and for oil and gas condensate, the indicator increased by 8.8 percent, to 36.31 million tons. The company explained such dynamics by the impact of weather, economic and political factors. The weather conditions there were associated with a reduction in supplies to the Russian market — a milder winter than in 2022 affected.
