OREANDA-NEWS. The question of whether Nord Stream will be completed is likely to be resolved in the next 12 months. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Economy and Energy of the Federal Republic of Germany Peter Altmeier, speaking at the 25th conference "Potsdam Meetings".

The minister said in this regard: "The issue of completion or non-completion of Nord Stream 2 is one of those that may be resolved in the next 12 months ".

He added that the FRG government "has so far successfully overcome all possible escalations and conflicts in this regard."

The question of completing Nord Stream 2 depends on the builders, all the permissions of German and European regulators are in place, said Peter Altmaier, head of the German Ministry of Economy and Energy, speaking at the 25th Potsdam Meetings conference.

The minister said: “Of course, I am not an engineer, and the problems we have now are not a lack of permits, many permits have been obtained not only in Germany, but also in the Scandinavian countries, where the pipeline is being laid ". He also added that the completion of the construction "depends on the speed of the installation work." At the same time, Altmaier admitted that this is not part of his tasks, so he cannot estimate the exact timing of the completion of construction.
