OREANDA-NEWS. The head of OMV AG Rainer Seele is sure that Russia will be able to find a vessel to complete the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. He said this during an interview with Bloomberg agency. The Austrian company OMV is one of the partners of Russian energy corporation Gazprom  in the project.

“As far as I understand, they are looking for a ship, and I bet, they will find it,” Seele said. However, the top manager noted that he does not know exactly how Gazprom intends to complete the construction of the gas pipeline and how much time it would take.

According to the head of OMV, pipe laying does not require “super-technologies”, especially in the shallow waters. He specified that the only question is whether this or that vessel is suitable for the pipe-laying process.
