OREANDA-NEWS By the end of March 2024, the average daily volume of Russian oil exports by sea reached an almost annual maximum and amounted to about 3.8 million barrels. This indicator has become the highest since May 2023, Kommersant reports, citing statistical data from Kpler analysts.

In annual terms, the average daily volume of Russian oil exports by sea increased by 5 percent. The result achieved in March fell slightly short of the level of May 2023 - then the average daily export was more than 3.9 million barrels.

At the same time, the March figure was the highest since the beginning of 2024. In January, the average daily volume of marine exports was at the level of 3.5 million barrels, and in February — at the level of 3.3 million.

Experts say that such dynamics are largely forced. Due to accidents at oil refineries (refineries) after a series of attacks by Ukrainian drones, part of the capacity was eliminated, against which Russia had to urgently increase the volume of raw materials exports.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that by the end of 2023, most of the Russian oil was received by the countries of the Asia-Pacific region (APR). They accounted for a total of more than 80 percent of oil exports and over 35 percent of petroleum products exports.
